Participation in the NTR Quality System
Participation in the NTR Quality System is based on a licence granted by the Nordic Wood Preservation Council (NWPC). The licence gives the producer the right to manufacture, mark and market products under approved NTR classes, subject to continuous compliance and independent quality control.
The NTR licence is granted per production site and is limited to the NTR classes that have been applied for and approved.

The annual NTR licence fee is paid as follows:
- Nordic producers
The annual licence fee is paid through the national wood preservation association that is a member of NWPC. - Non-Nordic producers without a national association affiliated to NWPC
The annual licence fee is paid directly to NWPC and consists of:- a fixed annual fee, and
- a volume-based fee linked to production
NWPC General Assembly decides on the fee to cover the operational cost of NWPC and the NTR system.
